Roman Berezovsky, the coach of the goalkeepers of the Armenian national team, spoke about the situation related to the lack of a leader in the Armenian national team.
“Of course, the Armenian national team lacks a leader of Mkhitaryan’s caliber. Any team needs such a player, especially our team. The appearance of such a star personality on the field already means a lot to us. The opponent starts treating the team a little more respectfully,” said Berezovsky in an interview with “Чемпионат”.
The former goalkeeper of the Armenian national team clarified: who can take this burden over time?
“Now we have some great new guys. We have high hopes for Edik Spertsyan and Nair Tiknizyan from Krasnodar. The leadership functions are performed more often by the players of the center of the field, of the offensive line, less often by the wing players. Nevertheless, Tiknizyan shows himself in the best way both in the club and in the team. Despite his role, he also manages to establish himself as a leader.
Spertsyan is already in the first roles in our team. He is still quite young, but we hope that Spertsyan can assume that function,” said Berezovsky.
