For those who have performing arts as a hobby that goes beyond the exercise of being a mere spectator, the Auzo Eszena program is a great opportunity. The city’s ‘amateur’ artists have this municipal cycle as a great ally to show and test their creations before the public. On this occasion up to nine shows will take place between February 26 and May 28 in the theaters of the Arana, Aldabe, Ariznabarra Arriaga, Zabalgana and Salburua civic centers. Later, from October to December, another eight pieces by non-professional artists from different disciplines (circus, theater, magic, puppets…) will be exhibited.

In total, 17 shows by firms far from large stages, with which it is expected to attract at least 3,000 spectators. Among the variety of proposals are works inspired by the political history of Spain, around different social problems and revisions of classics.

It is the starting signal for a program that will resume in March with a trio of proposals in which theater and dance take center stage with references to classics. There is a place for Lorca’s ‘Notes on Bernarda’, by Eternas, in Zabalgana (5th); the performance ‘De alta’, by Imanol Telle, in Arana (19) and the show ‘Witches dancing the tango’ (26), by Mentes Escénicas, in Zabalgana.

Then eight proposals were represented with an occupation of 1,366 seats in total. If the best forecasts are met, the data prior to the pandemic will be recovered.

As for the April programme, Titania –theatrical group that debuted five years ago with ‘Château Margaux’– will present the play ‘Date with Victoria’ (2nd, CC Salburua) which is inspired by the debates between Victoria Kent and Clara Campoamor around women’s suffrage in the thirties. For its part, the Tercera Fila group will stage ‘El búnker’ (23, Aldabe), a dystopia set in 2037 in which a “new world emergency situation” leads the authorities to apply a particular “system for confinement ».

In May there are other pieces reserved that vary. Another old acquaintance of this contest is Juanjo Monago, who presents the dramatic monologue ‘Report for an academy’ (14th, in Ariznabarra). This is followed by the musical theater by Tranpola, ‘Con un pinch of salt’ (21, Zabalgana) and ‘Disorders’, by Gurualia, which aims to “give visibility and shape to the different psychiatric disorders that are often hidden in our society”. . The tickets have a price that goes from 3 to 5 euros and is decided by each company. Passes can be purchased at all civic centers and sports facilities and online from this Wednesday. All performances are held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
