The criminals took the bus keys and fled
A group of criminals kidnapped seven of them bus this Wednesday (16th) to be used as barricades on the Estrada do Itanhangá, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The action is executed when Military Police carries out an operation, through the Special Operations Battalion (Bope), in the community of Tijuquinha, as published by the G1 portal.
The vehicles are crossing the Estrada do Itanhangá, which gives access to the communities of Tijuquinha, Muzema and Rio das Pedras.
The drivers were forced to place the buses on their sides and get off with the passengers.
The criminals then took the keys and left.
According to the spokesperson of the Military Police, Lieutenant Colonel Cláudia Moraes, this “strategy used by criminals to divert the attention of the Military Police” in the area where the officers operate, in an attempt to create “a smoke screen leading to unrest “, chaos for innocent people.” According to the publication, the road was closed in both directions and bus lines running in the region changed routes.
Over the past 12 months, at least 130 public vehicles have been used by criminals to erect barricades in communities in Rio de Janeiro, and more than 30 have been set on fire.
