The blood sample of the driver who crashed with a public transport bus in Burgas is negative. The man was released, and the vehicle returned to the municipal carrier.

From the information of the law enforcement agencies, it became clear earlier that there were no other participants in the accident, bTV reported.

The incident took place on “Maria Luisa” Street in the seaside town at around 5:30 p.m.

When the bus hit the floor, an 88-year-old passenger fell. The elderly man has a broken left hip joint and is admitted for treatment at UMBAL-Burgas.

The 39-year-old driver was tested for alcohol and drugs, with the second sample testing positive for amphetamine use. However, the blood test was negative.

The driver was detained for 24 hours and the bus was confiscated. Fast-track proceedings were initiated in the case.

The manager of the carrier company “BurgasBus” Petko Dragnev came out with a position earlier.

fractured left hip joint and was admitted to UMBAL-Burgas for treatment.

“Pending the release of the results of the blood test, which is being carried out at the Medical Academy-Sofia, it cannot be claimed in any way that the bus driver used any narcotic substances,” it said.

The company defines the preliminary slander of the driver as incorrect and misleading.

“In recent months, there have been many cases of false positive tests for the use of such substances, including those of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and they were categorically refuted after the blood tests. In many cases, it is about taking medication after an illness, painkillers or energy drinks,” the company reminded.

The emergency chemical analysis of the Burgazlia’s blood and urine did not prove the primary positive drug test. The bus seized by the speedy proceedings was returned to the owner company “BurgasBus”, and the police actions taken against the 39-year-old driver have been suspended.
