The carols of the Cobla and String Symphony

The Cobla and String Symphony of Catalonia (SCCC) will interpret carols from around the world in his new project, The spirit of Christmas. The work, with which the trilogy closes Get excited about the SCCCis being recorded these days among the Studies 44.1 of Aiguaviva il‘Auditori de Girona, where it will be presented live with three Christmas concerts at the end of November.

More than 140 musicians will participate in the three recitals on November 24, 25 and 26to offer a journey through Christmas melodies from various countries, such as Catalonia, Ukraine or the United States, adapted to the sound of the Cobla i Corda Symphony with arrangements by its director, Francesc Cassú, and Adrià Barbosa.

To The spirit of Christmasis SCCC will once again have the Puig-reig Polyphonic and some of the soloists who have already participated in previous projects of the formation, such as the singers Beth Rodergas, Elena Gadel, Miki Núñez, La Pau and Joan Garrido. This time, however, Mariona Escoda is also added to themin his first collaboration with the Girona orchestra.

From the Middle Ages to Ed Sheeran

All together they will perform a repertoire that includes pieces that go from the medieval music of Greensleeves to songs by Ed Sheeran, Elton John or Mariah Carey.

In addition, the disc will also include the premiere of a piece created for the occasion, composed by the singer Beth Rodergas and Adrià Barbosa.

The musical project promoted fifteen years ago by the Metalquimia Foundation, which brings together the musicians of La Principal de la Bisbal and those of the Youth Orchestra of the Girona Regions, thus closes the trilogy Get excited about the SCCCwhich started with 25 years of Global Music (2021) and followed last year with Anthems of the heart

The tickets for the three concerts of The spirit of Christmas the last weekend of November at the Girona Auditorium are already on sale. As usual, part of the proceeds will go to social entities: Càritas Girona, the UE Olot social football club and the Tresc Foundation.
