The Chief of Staff will announce the success of the armored women’s pilot

Chief of Staff Lt. Col. Aviv Kochavi is expected to announce next week the success of the pilot that trains women to serve in the Armored Corps. This was published today (Sunday) in the evening news here at 11. According to the publication, the female fighters who participated in the pilot achieved good results both in training and in operational activity.

This means that from the moment of the decision, the IDF will recruit women for combat roles in armor on a regular basis. It should be noted that the women are intended to serve on the Egyptian border, something that has actually been happening for the past year.

Last June, for the first time, news was published here that the Chief of Staff is expected to announce that the pilot was successful and that women will be able to enlist in the Armored Corps on a regular basis. The pilot in question has been going on for two years. One of the female fighters in the pilot has completed an officer’s course.
