The Russian Consulate General in Edinburgh has sent a request to the Scottish police regarding the incident with the beating of a Russian fan at the stadium where the match between the national teams of Ukraine and Sweden took place

“They asked the police about the receipt of an appeal from the victim. The citizen himself did not apply to the Consulate General. In the event of an appeal and confirmation of his identity and Russian citizenship, he will undoubtedly be provided with the necessary consular assistance,” said a representative of the Consulate General.

As it turned out later, Ukrainian fans beat up a native of Tula, who lives in Scotland. He, along with two of his friends, rooted for the Ukrainian national team.
