‘The country sees what you say and do’: Rahul to Modi – Rahul Gandhi | Bilkis Bano Narendra Modi

by time news

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Gujarat government released 11 accused who were sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bilkis Banu gang rape case. “People of the country are paying attention to what you say and do,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

“Those who tortured a five-month pregnant woman and killed her three-year-old daughter were let off during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. What message do those who talk about female empowerment give to the women of the country? Prime Minister, the country is seeing the difference between what you say and what you do,” Rahul said.

In his speech at the Red Fort on Independence Day, the Prime Minister had said that women should be respected and the woman power of the country should be supported, remembering the women freedom fighters. After this, there was severe criticism all over the country for releasing the accused.
