The creator of the cult game Minecraft, Markus Persson, better known as Notch, announced the start of work on a new project – the spiritual successor to his main brainchild.

As Day.Az reports with reference to cyber.sports.ru, on January 1, the developer conducted a survey on his account on the social network X, where he tried to find out which game his fans were waiting for more – a mixture of Dungeons & Dragons and Super Hot or Minecraft 2.

It is not surprising that the majority voted for the continuation of the legendary indie sandbox game with elements of a survival simulator and an open world. Notch confirmed that with this survey he actually announced the development of Minecraft 2. So far, the project has only one potential name – Adventureland, as well as several options for the setting: space, steampunk or something completely new.

The creator of Minecraft plans to launch the game in early access to collect feedback from players and take their wishes into account during the development process.

Notch specifically noted that he doesn’t want the announcement to be a knock against Mojang, which is an excellent supporter of the original Minecraft.
