SNCF, RATP, schools, fuel… The unions are calling for a renewable strike from this Tuesday against the pension reform.

« Lin France at a standstill. This is the promise of the unions for this Tuesday, March 7, white-hot by the inflexibility of the government on its pension reform bill, currently under discussion in the Senate. A total strike that promises a communication battle between the executive and the unions to sway public opinion. On this point, government spokesman Olivier Véran did not take half measures, stating that “bringing the country to a halt means taking the risk of an ecological, agricultural, health, even human.
If the apocalypse is – a priori – not for Tuesday, the day may well be very disrupted, in particular in transport. And it could last: some, including the CGT and Solidaires, are calling for a renewable strike to bend the executive. We take stock of the disruptions to be expected for the first day of mobilization.
Transports
At the SNCF, all the unions are calling for a massive strike this Tuesday, March 7, which they want to be renewed. “Expect that there are no trains, and that there are not many things from the 7th”, warns the CGT. On the RATP side, on the front line because the special status of future agents is threatened by the reform, the inter-union also calls for a renewable strike from March 7. Are we heading towards a 2019 scenario? At the time of the first attempt at reform by Emmanuel Macron, the Paris metro and the RER had been severely disrupted for several weeks.

For the SNCF like the RATP, as well as the transport networks in the metropolises, the traffic forecasts will be known from Sunday evening, the strikers being required to declare themselves 48 hours in advance.
Air
The air traffic controllers should walk away too. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation has already asked companies to reduce their flight schedule by 20% at Roissy, and by 30% at the largest French airports: Beauvais, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Paris- Orly, Marseilles, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice and Toulouse.
Fuel
The CGT chemistry, which represents the majority of refinery employees, is also calling for a renewable strike in refineries, from this Monday evening, March 6. The union hopes to succeed in blocking installations and creating gasoline shortages at service stations, as during the spring strike. “Both in the production of fuel, in the distribution, in the import, we aim to block the whole economy, in particular by the strike”, indicate the representatives.

Education
No zone will be on vacation this Tuesday, and all teachers are called upon by their unions. The latter call for a massive mobilization to “totally close schools, colleges [et] high schools” on March 7.
Students and high school students could join the movement, with youth organizations calling on them to “turn up the heat on March 7” and the days after. Thursday, March 9 will also be a day of mobilization dedicated to youth.
And after ?
In most sectors, the unions are calling for a renewable strike. However, the CFDT has not yet made a decision at the federal level, and promises to “take the decision according to what will happen on March 7”. And to ask: “Before saying to yourself “what is the next date?”, what is the government’s response? »
