The Zarautz – Mollarri – Zarautz route has come to stay and has done so with force. Pol Gil and Candela Sánchez, winners of the last edition of the two tests held in Zarautz, as well as various members of the Spanish team will undoubtedly be present. According to the organization, most of the Getaria-Zarautz winners in recent years will not be missing either.

The Zarautz – Mollarri – Zarautz journey, which will take place on Saturday, July 22 and has a 5,000-meter route starting and finishing in the port of Zarautz, will be the ninth stage of the eighth edition of the Spanish Cup. This return to Spain aquatic, started on May 13 with the Sailfish Lanzarote Open Water, and consists of 17 stages of which there are five classified as Tour 1000 that include the most outstanding events of the open water scene. The following weekend it will be the turn of Itzurun-Arranpla. The Zumaia crossing will take place on July 8 and has a route of about 3.00 meters, two kilometers through the open sea and one through the Urola estuary.

On July 16, the fourth edition of San Anton Bira will be held in Getaria. An appointment that is gaining followers every year and that is presented as the perfect training session for Getaria-Zarautz.

July 22-23 is reserved for the queen test of the Gipuzkoan calendar and which promises to bring together many fans of open water tests both from the Basque Country and from other communities as well as foreign participants.

As every year, the crossing of the Paseo Nuevo will be held on August 15 as part of the Semana Grande in San Sebastián, while the following weekend will be the Tour of the Island organized by Atlético de San Sebastián. On September 9, the Tour of the Bay will close the open water calendar of the Gipuzkoan Swimming Federation.

This year we must regret the absence of the Txingudi Crossing, which cannot be held due to date problems. On the other hand, the Whaling Crossing that took place on the first weekend of July with a 5-kilometre route between Pasaia and Zurriola will have to change dates due to the passage of the Tour through Gipuzkoa on those days.
