The Association of European Gas Utilities Operating Companies said that the European Union reduced this September the rate of pumping gas into underground storage, by 13.5% in monthly terms.

Currently, the pumping rate is growing by 0.32 percentage points per day, compared to 0.37 percentage points last August, during which some countries continue to draw net gas from underground reservoirs.

In total, there are currently 90 billion cubic meters of gas in European underground storage facilities, and the total storage amounted to 83.27%, an increase of 0.28 percentage points per day. its total capacity.

It is noteworthy that on some days since the beginning of autumn, more gas has been withdrawn from the “underground” than was pumped into it, and among these countries can be mentioned Belgium, Denmark and Poland.

The heating season usually begins in mid-October, but last year it only started in November.

According to the European Commission in the summer, underground tanks usually provide 25-30% of the gas consumed in Europe in the winter.
