The Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Ambassador Nicola Orlando, met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, in his office in Tripoli.

He added: “Protecting the technocratic independence of the Central Bank and completing its unification are essential to the bank’s economic effectiveness as well as to Libya’s long-term stability and prosperity. The European Union will remain committed to supporting the Central Bank through technical assistance and capacity building, and I have reaffirmed our readiness to expand the scope of cooperation to enhance economic stability and diversification.” Investment and sustainable growth.
He said: “As co-chair of the Economic Working Group of the Berlin Process, the European Union continues to urge the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and international partners to quickly resume meetings to coordinate efforts in support of the critical role played by the Central Bank.”
