Editor: It’s‌ just around the ⁢corner, ⁢from November 8 to 18! What makes FILIJ one of the most anticipated cultural events‌ of the year?

Dr. Torres: FILIJ⁣ is not only a celebration of children’s and youth‍ literature but also a ⁣gathering of diverse creators and⁣ audiences. This year’s edition will ‌take place in ⁢the picturesque Chapultepec Forest,⁣ which adds ⁣a beautiful backdrop to the event. Editor: That sounds incredible!⁢ I’ve read ⁢that there will ⁢be 74 houses participating, which includes a mix of publishers, authors,‍ and diverse artists. ‍How important is this diversity for ‍the festival?

Dr. ⁣Torres: It’s essential! Diversity fosters creativity and ⁢allows children⁢ to see themselves represented in literature. When young readers have access to ⁢stories from various ⁢cultures and perspectives,⁣ it broadens their understanding of the world. Plus, having various formats — like‌ puppet theater and circus shows — makes literature ‍more dynamic and engaging ‍for them.

Editor: ⁢Speaking of ⁢engagement, what kind of ⁣activities can attendees expect?‍ I hear there‍ will be ‍workshops and artistic⁤ presentations?

Dr. Torres: ‍ Absolutely! FILIJ will feature five forums dedicated to a plethora ‍of activities, including editorial presentations, storytelling sessions, and even workshops led by authors and illustrators. Editor: It sounds like a brilliant way to promote literacy and creativity. How do you think events like FILIJ impact the ⁣local community ⁢and education?

Dr. Torres: Events like⁣ FILIJ create ⁤a culture of reading⁤ and learning⁢ in the community. They allow for interaction that goes beyond the classroom and encourage collaboration⁢ between⁣ schools, ‍families, and artists. The attendees not only gain exposure to⁤ new ideas and inspirations but also become part of a larger reading community that values ‍creativity and education.
