Claims against Wirecard, former executive bodies and EY expire on December 31st. Shortly before closing time, the investor organization DSW filed a mass lawsuit. EY is being sued for 700 million euros in damages.

On June 25, 2020, Wirecard AG had to file for bankruptcy after air bookings worth 1.9 billion euros became known. Three and a half years later, an important deadline in the accounting scandal, in which up to 20 billion euros of capital was destroyed, will expire in just a few days: claims against the former DAX group and its executive bodies such as Wirecard boss Markus Braun or Jan Marsalek as well as the auditors of EY expire three years after the claim arises. Private investors must therefore file a civil lawsuit by December 31, 2023 in order to suspend the statute of limitations.

Anyone who asserts claims over 5,000 euros must hire a lawyer to file the lawsuit. He will file the lawsuit before the turn of the year with the Munich I Regional Court, which has local jurisdiction for claims against Wirecard, Braun and Co.
