An American man convicted of killing two people while stealing his girlfriend’s bail was sentenced to death today.
He will be the first person to be executed in 2022. Donald Grant, 46, was sentenced to death today for injecting himself with poison.
He was sentenced to death in 2005. They were all dismissed on the ground that they had petitioned for reconsideration on various occasions. The U.S. Supreme Court last Wednesday rejected his request for the death penalty for the last shooting.
In 2001, Donald Grant (then 25) broke into a hotel to release his imprisoned girlfriend on bail. He then shot and killed one of the hotel staff who opposed him and stabbed the other to death.
