FGV will install an information tent on Thursday in Marqués de Campo to publicize the result of the works carried out since 2016, when the service had to be interrupted for security reasons
The Generalitat, through the General Directorate of European Funds, has designed an action to bring citizens closer to the comprehensive renovation and modernization works that have been carried out over the last few years on Line 9 of the TRAM d’Alacant (Benidorm-Dénia). The “Tu fas l’últim tram” campaign will take place in the cities of Dénia (July 27) and Benidorm (July 28).
In Dénia, in the morning, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a tent will be set up on Marqués de Campo street, near the port, to report all the news related to the TRAM d’Alacant. In addition, participatory dynamics will be carried out on these improvement actions in the infrastructures of the Generalitat Valenciana Railways.
Some works that have had an investment that exceeds, as a whole, 150 million euros, financed, in part, with contributions from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund of the Valencian Community 2014-2020 (FEDER 14-20).
The technical improvements incorporated and the new infrastructures built, as well as the new dual rolling stock, make it possible to maintain and improve operating conditions, guaranteeing the regularity and quality of the service with similar standards to the rest of the TRAM d’Alacant network.
In this sense, the opening of the section between Gata de Gorgos and Dénia has made it possible to recover a service that is highly demanded by the different populations of the Marina Alta region which, in turn, contributes to improving the structure of the province and responding to the mobility needs of citizens.
In Dénia, Line 9 has two new stops before reaching the main station: Bosc de Diana and Pedrera-Vessanes, built as part of the tramway process that has allowed urban integration of the old railway layout.
The improvement and modernization works on this line continue and the new viaduct over the Quisi ravine in Benissa will be opened to traffic shortly. Also, in the coming months, work will begin on the new bridges over the Algar River and the Mascarat in Altea.
