“The goal of GERB and DPS is for them to succeed in forming a cabinet without us,” said Miroslav Ivanov from PP-DB to BNT.
“It’s easiest for me to say that GERB is to blame and to get into the whole controversy of Mr. Borisov. That’s why I don’t want to do it,” he added.
He pointed out that after the elections the talks with GERB will continue, because he thinks that “the situation will not change much”. In his words, “Bulgaria has become a laughing stock in front of the whole of Europe”.
“I can’t say that we made a mistake somewhere, because we started this whole process ten months ago with the clear awareness that Bulgaria must get out of the series of elections it entered and get out of the political crisis”.
Miroslav Ivanov specified that a large part of the goals that PP-DB set for themselves at the beginning of the administration have been fulfilled.
“Quite often I hear speculations. Where is the judicial reform? Where is the change? Sarafov is there. No. This was the first step of the so-called judicial reform”.
“Boyko Borisov kept repeating how a coalition agreement should be signed. How suddenly from wanting to write down the commitments, he backed away from his words, conditions began to be set, speculation started, and ultimatums were set”.
“The facts say the following. We were given an ultimatum within 24 hours on Sunday evening. Without a clear reason for it. We did not appear on television to fight our colleagues from GERB and SDS in the beginning. We had two statements, inviting to a calm dialogue. We had a week. But when Gabriel brought in the folder with a draft cabinet and most of the ministers were not asked if they agreed to participate in just such a cabinet composition… That for me and for our whole parliamentary group, it was shocking.” .
