During a speech on the government’s mid-term assessment as part of the series of “Café Citoyen” meetings, organized by the “Citizens” movement which ended Tuesday in Fez, Mr. Akhannouch indicated that the government has well managed a number of thorny issues such as the water problem by implementing a set of measures aimed at restructuring water policy and making up for the delay in the completion of several projects, taking into account tenuous of its historic responsibility towards this strategic sector and in application of high royal directives.
A press release from the “Citizens” movement notes that Mr. Akhannouch welcomed the government’s success in relaunching social dialogue and making it a fertile space for developing social choices and defining public policies capable of satisfying the needs of citizens. , specifying that the head of government also welcomed the contribution of the Executive, through a certain number of measures, to the establishment of a positive dynamic in the national economy, as well as its achievements in the sectors of education, health and agriculture and reiterated the government’s commitment to finding solutions to the various outstanding problems according to the capacities available to the State.
“The government has based its assessment on the legitimacy of the achievements made in the service of Moroccan citizens and families without complaining about the repercussions of the complex crises that our country has experienced in recent years,” he said.
For her part, the representative of the “Citizens” movement underlined the importance of this communication operation to strengthen local contact with citizens, welcoming the positive support of members of the government to the movement’s call for participation in communication meetings organized in parallel with the presentation of the government’s progress report, as part of the relationship between civil society and the country’s active forces.
The press release also notes that the head of government interacted with the various questions of citizens who participated in the meeting, during which the “Citizens” movement presented to Mr. Aziz Akhannouch the various recommendations which sanctioned his national tours which allowed him to meet more than 5,000 citizens in more than 60 cities and 12 regions of the Kingdom.
The series of “Café Citoyen” meetings, organized by the “Citizens” movement, an independent association founded in 2016, aim to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development by strengthening citizen participation in public debate, consolidating the capacities of young people, women and territorial actors, and allow new dynamics to play their role in the development of territories and regions.
These meetings, which began on May 27 and took place in different cities and regions of the Kingdom, revolve around the government’s mid-term report, in the presence of the head of government and several of its members.
These meetings saw the active participation of several members of the government, including the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Ghita Mezzour, and the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor.
During these regional meetings, members of the government reviewed their achievements during the thirty months of life of the government, discussing and listening to the opinions and questions of citizens.
