The Governor of Baghdad issues directives to companies implementing projects in the capital

Today, Sunday, the Governor of Baghdad, Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi, issued directives to the companies implementing projects in the capital, while indicating that the governorate will take legal measures against those who try to pressure and blackmail the companies implementing the projects.

Al-Alawi told the (INA): “Today, a meeting was held with the first group of implementing companies and contractors who are implementing projects for Baghdad Governorate, and there are meetings with other groups,” noting, “We emphasized in this meeting cooperation with companies to complete work according to standard specifications.” According to the terms of the contract that was concluded.”
He added, “We have been informed of the problems and obstacles that obstruct the work of companies and delay the completion of the work assigned to them,” pointing out that “we have directed our departments, departments, and concerned employees to record these obstacles, and we emphasized maintaining the relationship with them to communicate with us directly through the First Deputy and Second Deputy Governors.” Baghdad, or even contact the governor of Baghdad directly.”
He continued, “We emphasized that we should be informed of any pressure placed on them from any party or their exposure to an attempt at blackmail, so that we can take legal and administrative measures against those who practice this act that violates the law.”
He stressed the necessity of “completing projects according to the specified time period and specifications,” pointing out “the importance of cooperation with contractors and companies.”
He stated, “This is an approach to supporting the private sector in implementing projects, as this sector is a true partner.”
He stressed that “without the private sector, it is not possible to accelerate the pace of completion of these projects and reduce the burden on the budget and on our government institutions to implement projects to serve the people of the capital.”
The Governor of Baghdad stated that “the government program includes general objectives that fall within the general policies of the federal government, and the governorate is a partner party in implementing the priority of the federal government over the governorate’s area,” pointing out that “the multiplicity of methods of control, follow-up and evaluation is important in accelerating achievement and diagnosing defects early, and that “The intersection of information is also important.”
He stressed, “We aim to speed up completion, address defects, and monitor violations if they occur at any work site,” noting, “We are continuing to complete projects.”
He stated that “media professionals are partners in monitoring, diagnosing, and communicating observations so that we can address the problems and defects that occur in our performance, and this is normal,” explaining that “any work that includes an intentional or unintentional defect, and we work to address it immediately.”
