The young Guatemalan Ximena Carrillo stood out in the first edition of Miss Cosmo 2024where she was classified among the 21 finalists of the contest. Carrillo, who was crowned as Miss Cosmo Guatemala 2024 Being the third finalist of the 53rd edition of Miss Universe Guatemala, she has brought the pride of our country to the international competition.
The event, held from September 15 to October 5 at the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnambrought together representatives from more than 60 nations, all competing under the motto “Shocking Beauty.” This motto reflects the pageant’s mission to empower women around the world to realize their aspirations and positively transform their communities. Indonesian representative Ketut Permata Juliastrid was crowned the winner of the pageant.

From the beginning of her participation, Ximena Carrillo stood out as one of the favorites, especially after winning first place in her group in the first round of the Cosmo Social Ambassador Award. With the support of the Guatemalans, he managed to position himself among the first places for several days. Although she did not win this recognition that would give the winner a place in the top 21, her effort was rewarded by placing herself among the 21 finalists.
In a presentation video, the Guatemalan shared her motivation for participating in Miss Cosmo, indicating that she wanted to show her true self, how authentic she is and represent Guatemala, sharing how incredible our country is. The National Costumes competitionheld on September 19, was one of the most anticipated moments of the contest. On that occasion, Ximena wore the “NICTEEL, PRE-COLUMBIAN DIVA” costume. This beautiful and colorful design, created by hand by the talented Zacapaneco César Portillo, was inspired by the Mayan goddess of flowers, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Guatemala.
On October 3, during the preliminary competition, the participants presented their gala and swimsuits. Ximena wore an elegant gold dress, which enhanced her beauty and confidence. Later, she appeared in an orange swimsuit with green details.
Ximena Carrillo is currently 20 years old and is in the second year of her degree in Nutrition. Despite not having won the title of Miss Cosmo 2024, she represented Guatemala with pride, sharing about the beauty of our country and the talent of Guatemalans to stand out internationally. Her classification among the 21 finalists is an achievement to celebrate, since out of more than 60 candidates, she was highlighted among the best.
