A woman in China fell backwards while wearing hair clips and fell into a coma.
According to local media such as China’s Jimu Newspaper on the 18th, Ms. A (28, female), who lives in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, was recently injured by a pin and fell into a vegetative state.
At the time, Ms. A was riding on the back of an electric bicycle driven by her boyfriend. Then, the bike lost its balance and fell, and my boyfriend suffered minor injuries. However, Mr. A hit the back of his head against the ground with the pin in place, causing blood to pour out and his skull to be fractured.
Mr. A, who was later taken to the hospital, underwent two surgeries, but is said to have not yet regained consciousness. The medical staff diagnosed that Mr. A could be in a vegetative state in the future.
The speed of the bicycle at the time of the accident was 20 km/h. The road surface was smooth, so the likelihood of a major accident was low.
Medical experts said, “At the center of the back of the head, where the pincer pin is located, are the brainstem and cerebellum, which control important physiological functions such as breathing, heartbeat, behavior, and movement in humans.”

He added, “In the event of a sudden impact, the pin may pierce the scalp or the back of the head, threatening life.”
Meanwhile, this is not the first accident caused by pins. On the 19th of last month, a woman in Sichuan Province who was using pincers slipped and stabbed herself in the back of the head, causing severe bleeding.
On October 27 last year, a 13-year-old girl fell in the bathroom while wearing a pin and received three stitches.
A doctor working overseas posted an X-ray photo of a pin stuck in the skull through his Instagram and urged caution.
