The Head of Ivorian Diplomacy salutes the leadership and strong commitment of HM the King to peace and development in Africa
Rabat – The Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Ivorians Abroad, Mr. Kacou Houadja Léon Adom, welcomed, Wednesday in Rabat, the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and the African vision of the Sovereign in favor of peace, stability and socio-economic development in Africa, as set out in the Sovereign’s speech in Abidjan in March 2014.
Speaking at a press briefing following his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Ivorian Minister welcomed the Initiative of His Majesty the King aimed at promoting access of the Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, underlining the strategic importance of this initiative which is part of Morocco’s active solidarity with brotherly African countries.
On this occasion, the two ministers welcomed the dynamic initiated within the framework of the Process of Atlantic African States to make the African Atlantic area a geostrategic framework which conceals significant opportunities for synergy and cooperation between the countries which compose it in strategic areas, such as the environment, food security, health, energy, logistical interconnection, pooling of resources and exchange of experiences and which can, in this regard, constitute a zone of co-emergence and stability.
They also welcomed the progress in the realization of the West African Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline mega-project, as well as the modalities of strengthening, coordination and cooperation linked to this project, symbol of Southern cooperation. -South which, once completed, will contribute to improving the living conditions of the population and strengthening regional economic integration.
