The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the General Meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Tuesday.
Reminding the audience that the existence of civilization in the long term depends on space exploration, Yuri Ivanovich noted the significant role of scientists in this exploration.
Recalling a number of successful and not so successful projects in the domestic space industry, Borisov called on everyone to focus on the next step. In particular, on the construction of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS), for the creation of which a federal project has already been approved, as well as on the nuclear fuel transport and energy module.
“We have a head start (on nuclear-fueled TEM), but we need to think about what needs to be done to maintain the momentum,” advised Yuri Borisov.
The head of Roscosmos also stated that Russia is still among the world space leaders.
