Crew members of the International Space Station (ISS) demonstrated to the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, the location of the depressurization of the radiator on the multipurpose laboratory module “Science”. Borisov himself spoke about this on Thursday, October 12.

He explained that modern means of telecommunications make it possible to promptly respond and communicate with astronauts. Immediately after the incident, Borisov got in touch with the station crew, “they even showed me a photograph of the possible location of the damage.”

The head of the state corporation emphasized that the cosmonauts feel fine, he is not in any danger, and the thermal conditions in the module have been preserved.

Nikolai Chub and Oleg Kononenko are scheduled to perform a spacewalk on October 25 – they will inspect the damaged area and study options for eliminating the malfunction.

A coolant leak in the Russian segment of the ISS became known on October 9. Initially, the information came from specialists from the American Mission Control Center – they visually recorded “flakes outside the station.”

After the incident, NASA postponed the astronauts’ spacewalks, which were scheduled for October 12 and 20.
