Member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abdel Salam Nasya, candidate for the position of Speaker of the Arab Parliament, met with Speaker of the Tunisian House of Representatives, Ibrahim Bouderbala, at the Bardo Palace in the Tunisian capital..

Dr. Abdel Salam Nasya conveyed, “Greetings from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, to the Speaker of the Tunisian House of Representatives and the brotherly Tunisian people, and stressed “the strong ties that unite the Tunisian and Libyan peoples, which continue to be strengthened by virtue of the neighborhood relations that bring together the two brotherly countries,” and he also expressed, “ “His appreciation for the development witnessed by Tunisia, wishing it further success on the path of construction.”

He stressed the importance of “bilateral cooperation in many fields, as an embodiment of the long-standing relations between the two countries and in line with the common goals aimed at further consolidating the bonds of universal brotherhood between the two brotherly peoples, which represent a basic foundation for building a better future.”

The meeting also touched on parliamentary relations and the importance of intensifying efforts to strengthen them in service of common interests, pointing out the role that the Arab Parliament must play in this delicate circumstance that the Arab nation is going through, which requires more dialogue and consultation on various basic issues of concern to the Arab peoples. “As well as coordinating positions and working at the bilateral and multilateral levels to confront various challenges.”

He expressed his hope that the Tunisian House of Representatives would support his candidacy for the presidency of the Arab Parliament during its next session, reviewing the motives for this candidacy, its goals, and its work programs.

For his part, the Speaker of the Tunisian House of Representatives expressed “the depth of the historical relations between Libya and Tunisia and the two brotherly peoples,” stressing “continuing work to enhance joint cooperation in various fields in a way that meets the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and is in line with what distinguishes the common ties between the two countries.”

He stressed “Tunisia’s permanent support for Libya and its efforts aimed at making its political path a success within a Libyan-Libyan framework,” expressing “his confidence in the ability of the Libyan people to overcome the various difficulties presented.”

The Speaker of the Tunisian House of Representatives stressed “the importance of relations with the Libyan House of Representatives and working to develop them,” and stressed “Tunisia’s keenness to have an active presence in the Arab Parliament, given its role in promoting joint Arab action, achieving economic integration, and its contribution to defending the issues of the Arab nation and supporting “Formal diplomacy at that.”

He stressed “the necessity of coordinating positions among Arab parliamentarians in regional and international forums, and the necessity of the unity of the Arab peoples to enable them to regain their position and continue building a bright future for the Arab nation, and to stand firmly in the face of all attempts to bring them to their knees.”
