Head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Peter Sijarto criticized the double standards and hypocrisy of the European Union, especially its left-wing populist forces.

As Day.Az reports with reference to AZERTAC, as an example he cited two events that are completely opposite in essence, demonstrating such duplicity.

“When the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy Matteo Salvini did not allow a ship with illegal migrants to land on Italian shores and thereby protected the borders of Italy, and therefore the safety of the country and its citizens, the prosecutor’s office requested a six-year prison sentence for him. But when Ilaria Salis came to Hungary as part of a gang to beat up random passers-by on the streets of Budapest, the left (in her person – ed.) broke into the European Parliament,” Szijjártó wrote in his Facebook post today.

Let us recall that Ilaria Salis spent more than a year under house arrest in Hungary on charges of attacking right-wing demonstrators in Budapest. In June this year, she was elected as a member of the European Parliament for the Green and Left Alliance, after which, on the basis of the immunity associated with her status as an MEP, she was released and her electronic bracelet was removed.

“Has everyone here gone crazy?” asks the head of the foreign policy department.
