She attended the civil pilgrimage with a military ritual in front of the monument of Vasil Levski in the city, which is part of the commemorative events on the occasion of 151 years since the death of the Apostle of Freedom.
“Every year on February 18, we gather here, in Lovech, not to recall the image of that cold winter day, the black gallows, but to bow our heads in honor of the Apostle of Bulgarian freedom. Who is Levski – each of us can answer for ourselves. Every day this image must be in front of our eyes, we must know the words, their wisdom, their reference in history, learn its lessons and pass these lessons on to all who come after us,” Yotova added.
She also said that Vasil Levski left such a lasting mark in Bulgarian history that today, of the entire palette of Bulgarian heroes, great personalities, he is the brightest and most worthy of emulation.
