The interim government will solve the problem of giving money to the Rooppur project, said Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander Mantitsky paid a farewell meeting with the chief advisor of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, on Wednesday (October 9).

The meeting was held at the office of the Chief Adviser at Tejgaon in the capital. At this time, the chief adviser said this.

In the meeting, Mantitsky recalled various incidents during his duties in Bangladesh as the ambassador of the Russian Federation. He was in charge for more than three years.

The Ambassador briefed the Principal Adviser on the progress of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. Russian experts are implementing the project.

The meeting also discussed the exploration activities of the Russian state company Gazprom in Bangladesh, the export of Russian wheat and fertilizers and the repayment of the debt of the Rooppur power plant.

The Chief Adviser appreciated Russia‘s cooperation in the power and energy sector and its role in supplying wheat and fertilizers to Bangladesh.

The chief adviser said that the interim government would solve the problem of giving money to the Rooppur project. He welcomed more Russian investment in Bangladesh.

Professor Yunus said, we will work together.
