The Kayira association’s mission is to help vulnerable people. She held an awareness day in an internally displaced person site in Pabré, this Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The aim was to bring together more than a hundred women in order to convey messages on the prevention of breast cancer.

After its public conference and free screening session held at the private university of Ouagadougou, the Kayira association held an awareness session for internally displaced women based in Pabré.
According to the president of the association, Elvira Yehoun, it is a matter of providing these women with the actions to take to prevent this disease which is bereavement for several families in Burkina Faso. “ We made this trip to hold a breast cancer screening awareness day. We are already going to focus on prevention. Steps to take, we will explain what the disease is and how to avoid it »she indicated.
Listening to him, the choice was made on the site in view of the preponderant number of women there. “ The displaced are vulnerable people who do not necessarily have any knowledge of the disease. It’s mainly about explaining to them how to self-palpate. We came here to Pabré because we wanted to go beyond Ouagadougou to benefit other localities,” added Elvira Yehoun.
A choice that the site representative, Boureima Konfé, welcomed. “ What the association did this morning really goes straight to our hearts. It’s already a start and it’s really great. Often women suffer from it but they don’t know it. So coming here and explaining this process to them is really helping us a lot. And this will allow our women to be protected from this disease which tires women a lot”he greeted.

KAYIRA is a non-profit association whose primary objective, according to its leaders, is to help the most deprived and disadvantaged groups through concrete actions with lasting impacts. Before this date, she had held a free screening session in Ouagadougou where she said she had reached around fifty young people.
