On Saturday, in the qualification, 31 teams fought for 19 places in the A final, Latvians occupying the 23rd position. Fighting for another place in the A final in the B final on Sunday, Reišulis won and ensured the participation of the Latvians in the fight for prizes.
In the first race, in which drivers of the MXGP and MX2 classes competed, Reišulis finished in 12th place and Pumpurs finished in the top 30. In the second race, when MX2 and “Open” drivers competed, Reišulis won the eighth place and Bidzāns was in the 28th position. In the third race between MXGP and “Open” representatives, Bidzān and Pumpura were 26th and 29th, respectively.
In the nations standings, with teams collecting points for places won and canceling one of the worst results, Australia, which included American championship brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence, as well as Kyle Webster, celebrated their victory. The Australians started with “Honda” vehicles.
For the first time, as an independent country, Latvia participated in the Motocross of Nations in 1992. Last year, Jonas, Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis and Kārlis Alberts Reišulis won 12th place.
