The sessions of the Middle East Forum 2024 began today, Tuesday, under the title of Good Governance and Prosperity.

The correspondent of the (INA) said: “The sessions of the Middle East Forum 2024 began today under the title of Good Governance and Prosperity, the leading annual event for political dialogue in Iraq, and it mainly addresses Iraq’s current policy priorities, the constantly changing regional dynamics, and the opportunities available for international participation and cooperation.” .
He added, “The forum was attended by senior leaders and politicians in Iraq, most notably the President of the Region, Nechirvan Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, Bafel Talabani, Muthanna al-Samarrai, the United Nations envoy, Muhammad al-Hassan, and the American ambassador to Iraq.”
In turn, the head of the European Union mission in Iraq, Thomas Seiler, said: “Because of the conditions taking place in the region, we were not able to carry out our tasks better,” noting that “the European Union did not reduce financial aid to the countries of the region.”
For his part, Austria’s ambassador to Iraq, Andrea Nasi, explained in a speech during the forum that “Austria is working with the Iraqi government in several common areas, including the water issue.”
In addition, the Dutch Ambassador to Iraq, Janet Alber Da, stressed that “the existence of a stable and secure Iraq is in the interest of the international community,” indicating that “Iraq and the Kurdistan region must be partners with us.”
