Deputy Minister of Economy Rafael Gevorgyan made regular visits to textile companies within the framework of the support program for the textile industry of Armenia.

This time visits were made to “Texworld” and “Tavush Textile” companies of Tavush marz. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the production capacities of the companies, upcoming projects and existing problems.

“Texworld” company produces outerwear, some batches are produced for the RA Armed Forces. The company has its own outerwear brand “Delta”.

“Tavush Textile” company is one of the leaders in the field of production of construction gloves. Most of the products are exported. During its activity, the company recorded a dynamic growth of development, continuously increasing the volume of products and exports. About 400 employees work in the branch of the company in the city of Berd.

During the visit, Rafael Gevorgyan also had a meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tavush region. The current developments of the textile sector in the region, the possibilities of expansion of productions were discussed.

Rafael Gevorgyan noted that the light industry sector in Tavush region has a great potential to develop and is very important from the point of view of providing employment.
