Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalized the decision to increase the match fee in Test, ODI and T20. According to the recommendations of the Cricket Operations Committee, the board approved the increase in the match fee in the ninth board meeting last February.

The maximum increase is 2 lakh rupees in the elite version of cricket, the increase is 1 lakh rupees in ODI and the lowest increase is 50 thousand rupees in the T20 version. Cricket Operations sources confirmed the matter to RisingBD.

Earlier it was 6 lakh taka in Test, now it has increased to 8 lakh taka, in ODI it was 3 lakh taka, it has increased to 4 lakh taka and in T20 it has increased from 2 lakh taka to 2 lakh 50 thousand taka.

The match fee was last increased in 2020. The match fee increased from Tk 350,000 to Tk 6 lakh in Test, Tk 2 lakh to Tk 3 lakh, and T20 from Tk 125,000 to Tk 2 lakh.

Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Shariful Islam are in three editions of the central contract of cricketers this year. Only Mushfiqur Rahim is in Test and ODI. Only Muminul Haque, Taijul Islam, Naeem Hasan, Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Khaled Ahmed are in Tests.

Apart from this, there are Taskin Ahmed, Tawhid Hriday, Mostafizur Rahman and Hasan Mahmud in ODI and T20. Mahmudullah Riyad and Tanjim Hasan Shakib are only in ODIs. Nasum Ahmed, Sheikh Mahedi and Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan only in T20.

The match fee, however, is not related to central contracts. Out-of-contract cricketers also get match fee as per version if they play an international match.
