Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas has announced that he will stand by the family of Mahin Ahmed, who was killed by the city corporation’s garbage truck in Mugaday, and take strict action against the culprits.
On Friday (April 26) evening, the Mayor of DSCC visited the family members of the slain schoolboy Mahin Ahmed at their home.
Later, during an exchange with the media, the mayor said that Mahin was killed in an accident in the city corporation’s waste truck while transferring waste from the interim waste transfer center of Ward No. 6 of Mugadar at approximately 9:00 p.m. yesterday. We are deeply saddened by this accident. We attended the funeral. We have no words to console the parents for the loss of the little child. We will be with the family of the deceased.
He said that a case has already been taken in this accident. We are asking for stricter and stricter punishment. We want to ensure that there is a complete fair trial in this accident. One thing to note is that our designated driver was passing the car instead of driving. We will not tolerate such irregularities in any way. Stricter administrative measures will be taken in this case. Dhaka South City Corporation will take strict action against all those who are involved in such activities. We have taken strict action in such incidents before. Those involved have been fired and retrenched. I have appointed many new regular drivers. As a result, there has been no accident by city corporation vehicles in the last two years. We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate accident yesterday. This time also we will take strict measures, so that such accidents do not repeat.
