The festival will surprise this year with the installation of 22 catrinas in emblematic points such as the Plinththe avenue Hidalgo and the Municipal pantheon.

The careful placement of the catrinas in different public spaces began this week, generating excitement among residents and visitors. However, the impact of festival will not be limited to the streets of Atlixco.

Workers from the Atlixco city council began the installation of the monumental figures, dedicated this year to relevant figures in history such as Pancho Villa, Emiliano Zapata, José María Morelos, Porfirio Díaz and Juan Escutia, among others.

Some of these colorful figures, made by Puebla artisans with various materials, will soon travel to the United States and Europe, to carry with them a message of Mexican tradition and folklore to international stages.

The Catrinas Valley is not only an example of local art, it is a bridge between Atlixco and the world, whose inauguration is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. this October 11th.
