A mother bear and her cub fell into an uncovered cesspool of a restaurant in the resort town of Sinaia – Szinaja in Hungarian – located in central Romania. The authorities were alerted to the trapped animals early on Saturday morning, reports Transtelex based on the report of prahovaeconomica.eu.

According to the disaster prevention inspectorate, the mother bear tried to save the cub from drowning in excrement by holding it on the top of its head.

The firefighters of Prahova County lowered a ladder into the pit in the hope that the bears would climb up on their own. The animals also took advantage of the opportunity: first the mother bear and then the buck came out of the cesspool.

The county disaster prevention inspectorate recorded it and shared some details of the rescue operation.

The two animals were later driven to the nearby forest to find their natural habitat. Although their brown hair was covered in brown dirt from head to toe, they both survived.

Quoting the Sinaia city manager, Agerpres writes that the owner of the restaurant will be punished for not complying with safety regulations.
