The new volleyball coach Gianlorenzo Blengini arrives here on Monday to start his mission.
The Italian specialist was engaged by the federation with a contract for 3+2 years with a specific goal – forming a team of young players, building it and qualifying for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
Blengini will begin work with the first group of volleyball players to be assembled on May 3. Before that, the 52-year-old coach is expected to be presented at a special press conference.
Blengini’s HQ is clear. It includes his compatriot Francesco Cadedu, who leads the winner in the regular season of the championship “Deya Sport”, the coach of “Dobrudja” Danail Milushev and the assistant in “Levski” Hristo Tsvetanov.
The latter was actually involved in his role as coach of the youth team of the “blues”.
He has consistently won the titles in this age group in recent years. Some of his players are or were the backbone of the most successful Bulgarian formation during this decade.
Under the leadership of Martin Stoev, she came second at the under-19 world championships, and led by Andrea Buratini, she won bronze at the under-21 world championships.
6 people from this team are on Blendini’s roster. Among them is Alex Nikolov, whom the Italian mentored for almost 2 seasons in “Loube”.
