The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for provoking racial hatred, it announced on Tuesday 22 October, after being contacted by the police prefect, Laurent Nuñez, because a man had been photographed in the subway wearing an “anti-Jewish” flocked shirt.
“As soon as I was informed of these anti-Semitic facts, I immediately instructed my services to refer the case to the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, which opened an investigation for provocation of racial hatred”Mr. Nuñez posted ON. “The regional transport security at the police headquarters is responsible for the investigation to identify and arrest the perpetrator of the crime.
