In this regard, candle makers say that they have got expensive raw materials. Due to this, there is a compulsion to increase the price. Last year, where a packet of 10 ordinary candles was around Rs 30, now its price has gone up to Rs 35 to 40. If we talk about designer candles, their prices have also increased significantly. A packet of three scented candles was priced between Rs 100 and Rs 120 last year. This Diwali its price is between Rs 150 to Rs 180.

The festival of Diwali is not complete without lamps. In such a situation, lamps are used in every house. These include small lamps to big lamps. This time ordinary earthen lamps are available for Rs 10 each. Last year there were 15 lamps worth Rs 10 each.
A vendor selling lamps said that this time he has found lamps to be expensive in the wholesale market. Due to this he is also forced to sell expensive lamps. However, at some places 12 lamps worth Rs 10 are also available. The price of designer lamps has increased by 50 percent compared to last year.
They too were hit by inflation
The price of lights used to illuminate the house on Diwali has also increased. Regarding this, a seller said that customers now ask for new designed lights. In such a situation, when a new design comes in the market, it is expensive. For this reason the price of lights is higher this time.
According to another seller, a 50 meter small bulb light costs between Rs 300 to Rs 400. Multicolored lights cost more. Last year the price of a similar light was Rs 250 to Rs 300.
The price will increase further
According to sellers, the prices of candles, lamps and lights will increase further in a day or two. This is because their demand will increase. It is said that their prices may increase further by 50 percent. In such a situation, the price of a light available for Rs 400 can go up to Rs 600.
