The price of gold in Bangladesh market has increased several times and created new records. Now the price of good quality i.e. 22 carat gold is 1 lakh 37 thousand 449 taka. In such a situation, the central bank has announced to increase the price of commemorative gold coins.

The price of each coin has been increased by Rs 10,000 to Rs 1,25,000, which was Rs 1,15,000 till now. The new prices will be effective from September 15 (Tuesday).

Bangladesh Bank informed that the price of commemorative gold coins printed by Bangladesh Bank on ‘International Mother Language Day-2000‘, ‘Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman 1920-2020’ and ‘Golden Jubilee of Independence 1971-2021’ has been revised. Commemorative gold coins (with box) of 10 grams weight made of 22 carat gold, ‘International Mother Language Day-2000’, ‘Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman 1920-2020’ and ‘Golden Jubilee 1971-2021’ (with box) are sold at 1 lakh 25 thousand each. 1000 has been rescheduled.
