Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday emphasized on expanding the market for export products and said that besides expanding the market, the production of products should also be diversified.
During a courtesy meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at the Prime Minister’s office, the Prime Minister said, ‘In order to increase exports, product diversification should be done as well as market expansion.’
At this time, Sheikh Hasina also urged the traders to pay special attention to ensure the quality of the products produced.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon said in a press conference that the BGMEA delegation briefed the Prime Minister about trade, exports and recent market conditions.
They mentioned some problems caused by various factors including global situation. The Prime Minister listened to them attentively and assured to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
The delegation included BGMEA president Farooq Hasan, former president and former commerce minister Tipu Munsi, former president Abdus Salam Murshidi, Shafiul Islam and Siddiqur Rahman.
Prime Minister’s Secretary M. Tofazzal Hossain Mia was present in the meeting.
