This morning, Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sur visited the Administrative Control Authority and met with its president, Abdullah Muhammad Qadirbuh, where a meeting was held to discuss a group of important issues related to public affairs.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed “a number of issues of common interest, such as enhancing cooperation between the two sides to combat corruption, improving oversight of public funds, ensuring the implementation of laws in all transparency and justice, and discussing ways to develop oversight and follow-up mechanisms to achieve more effectiveness in combating administrative and financial corruption.” .
The two sides expressed “the importance of joint coordination between the two sides; To ensure the protection of public funds and enhance transparency in various state institutions.”
The Public Prosecutor affirmed, “cooperating with the investigative members of the Authority while they are conducting cases pending before the criminal chambers of the courts, and providing all facilities that will overcome the difficulties in carrying out their assigned work.”
The Public Prosecutor praised “the qualitative shift in the Authority’s 53rd annual report for the year 2023 AD, and the tireless efforts made in it to show general indicators about the most important foundations of the state, stressing the Public Prosecution’s intention to study the observations and violations contained therein, investigate them, initiate criminal cases, and refer the accused for trial before the judicial departments.” “And forming joint investigation committees between the two parties to investigate the conflicting data disclosed by the parties mentioned in the aforementioned report.”
A meeting was also held between the Chairman of the Administrative Oversight Authority, “Abdullah Muhammad Qadirbuh,” and the Advisor to the Public Prosecutor, “Al-Siddiq Al-Sur,” in the presence of the Director of the General Department of Investigation, the Director of the Office of the President of the Authority, the Director of the Office of the Public Prosecutor, the Director of the Planning Office, and the Director of the Anti-Money Laundering Follow-up and Recovery of Stolen Funds Office. and smuggled goods, to discuss the 53rd annual report for the year 2023.
During the meeting, “the observations and violations recorded by the Authority in the various executive bodies subject to its supervision were reviewed in the report, and the Authority’s recommendations were discussed to address these violations and enhance administrative work in accordance with standards of integrity and transparency.”
The head of the authority stressed “the importance of cooperation between the supervisory and judicial authorities to ensure follow-up on the implementation of these recommendations and address violations effectively, stressing the need to strengthen the supervisory role in the next stage to ensure improved government performance and preserve public money.”
In turn, the Public Prosecutor affirmed “his office’s cooperation with the investigation members of the Authority while they are conducting cases pending before the criminal chambers of the courts, and providing all facilities that would help them carry out their duties.”
He also praised the annual report and the effort expended in it, noting the Public Prosecution’s intention to study it, extract the important observations contained therein, investigate the violations revealed in terms of conflicting data, initiate criminal cases and refer the accused for trial before the judicial departments, and also stressing the role of the judiciary in Supporting the efforts of the Administrative Oversight Authority to combat corruption and promote the principle of the rule of law.”
On the sidelines of the meeting, the head of the authority delivered a copy of the report to the Attorney General, in a step aimed at strengthening the principle of transparency and accountability in state institutions.
