The reason why Kuwait decided to ban the screening of Gal Gadot’s film

by time news

The international news agency AFP reported today (Sunday) that Kuwait will ban the Netflix broadcast of the new film adaptation of the film “Death on the Nile”, starring the Israeli actress Gal Gadot. A senior official in the country told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabs that “the Ministry of Information will not allow the screening of the film and it has been removed from the screening lists of the three film companies in the country.”

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information has confirmed to the French media that the citizens of Kuwait will not be able to watch the film at the cinema following a demand on social media to ban and boycott the film. The citizens of Kuwait condemned on social media the praise given by the Israeli actress to the IDF, for which she criticized the terrorist organization Hamas during Operation Eitan in 2014.

Recall that this is not the first boycott of a film starring Gadot. In the past, the Ministry of Information in Kuwait banned the screening of “Wonder Woman” on the grounds that she had previously been a soldier in the “Israeli occupation army.”
