Ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s has called on US President Joe Biden to ensure peace in the ongoing Ukraine conflict. On Friday, the company wrote that Unilevergroup, on Twitter: “You cannot prevent war and prepare for it at the same time.”
“We call on President Biden to de-escalate and work for peace instead of preparing for war,” the company continued. “Sending thousands more US troops to Europe in response to Russia’s threats against Ukraine only fuels the flames of war.”
In the Ukraine conflict, French President Emmanuel Macron is currently trying to explore the reduction of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine with Russia’s head of state Vladimir Putin. The United States had recently sent 2,000 US soldiers to Europe. Headquarters is in Wiesbaden, and more soldiers are to be stationed in Poland and Romania.
Not the first political statement
