The major renovation of the hangar at Burshen Airport in Sliven, which began in July, is nearing completion. Mayor Stefan Radev was informed about this by the “Bulgaria Heli Med Service” (HEMS) air emergency system, the municipal administration announced.
The roof of the building has already been repaired. The hangar is plastered inside and out. A new floor covering has been laid, meeting all requirements. Currently drawing the helipad and working on the electrical installation. There are still finishing works on the doors, as well as connection to the water network.
The building will be used until the construction of a new base, which will be located meters from the renovated hangar, writes BTA.
HEMS confirmed the information that the delivery of the second helicopter to the country, which will be positioned at Sliven’s Burshen Airport, will be delayed. Instead of the originally announced month of November, the machine is expected to arrive early next year, the announcement added.
Renovations began in July. The base will serve the eastern part of the country.
