Last September, the revenue collection target was not achieved. 10 thousand 324 crores less than the target revenue has been collected. In that month, the growth in revenue collection was only 2.03 percent.
In September of last financial year 2023-2024, the revenue collected was 28 thousand 426 crores, in September of 2024-2025 financial year, 29 thousand crores were collected. The target of revenue collection in September of this financial year was 39 thousand 324 crores.
This picture of revenue collection can be seen in a statistic published by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) recently. According to NBR sources, the anti-government movement in early July and August, the changing situation throughout August and the change of power in the business and commerce of the country have hampered revenue collection.

In this month, 7 thousand 657 crores were collected against the target of 11 thousand 247 crores of duty, 9 thousand 596 crores were collected against the target of 13 thousand crores of VAT. And against the target of income tax collection of 15 thousand crore rupees, 11 thousand 748 crore rupees have been collected.
In the three months of the fiscal year (July-September), there has been a negative growth of 6.07 percent in revenue collection.
During the financial year 2023-2024, the income tax, VAT and customs revenue collected totaled 75 thousand 487 crores, which is about 4500 crores less than the three months of the current financial year. At the time of discussion, the revenue collected was 70 thousand 902 crore taka.
