The Narva border checkpoint is preparing for the possible appearance of queues among those crossing the border on foot, since from August 1, Estonian citizens have the opportunity to visit Russia on electronic visas. The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the same time, does not recommend traveling to the Russian Federation without good reasons, ERR reports.
“We believe that a slight increase may be possible. As experience has shown, if a visa application is delivered to a person’s home, then, of course, a significant number of people will want to take advantage of this. At the moment, it is difficult to say how many of them will come to our border checkpoint,” said Marek Liiva, head of the Narva border checkpoint.
