“The share of the BRICS countries in terms of purchasing power parity at the end of 2024 will be 36.7 percent, which confidently exceeds the share of the Group of Seven countries, their share will be 30 percent. And 30 percent was at the end of 2023, and in 2024 it will be a little higher,” he said.

The President of the Russian Federation added that the average growth of the BRICS economies in 2024-2025 will be, according to preliminary estimates, 3.8 percent, with an increase in global GDP, also according to preliminary estimates, at 3.2-3.3 percent.

Let us note that on October 22, the 16th BRICS summit started in Kazan. It consists of two parts. The first is a meeting of the member countries of the organization dedicated to the topic “Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security,” which is the motto of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship in 2024. The second part is a meeting in the “BRICS Plus/Outreach” format, the topic of which will be “ BRICS and the Global South – jointly building a better world.”
