The singer and actor Idan Amadi, who has been serving in the reserves since October 7 as a fighter in the Engineering Corps, was seriously injured during the fighting in the Gaza Strip. This was allowed to be published this evening (Monday). Amadi was taken to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer today, and is sedated and ventilated with shrapnel in all parts of his body.

Last November, Amadi wrote on Instagram that he was “ready not to perform or sing for a year” in order to continue fighting. According to him, “It is forbidden to abandon the citizens of the south and the north again. Anything that is not the elimination of Hamas in Gaza and the root treatment of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon is an immediate danger to our children.”

During the months of fighting, a series of documents from Amadi’s strip were published. Last month, a video was published that was taken from several angles documenting the destruction of a school in the Shejaia neighborhood in Gaza where terrorist infrastructure was located including tunnel shafts used by Hamas terrorists, as well as weapons and explosive devices. The person who announced the explosion was none other than Amadi.

“While we were still small, we blew up the location, the school, where our forces found weapons, explosive sites and tunnel shafts,” Amadi is heard saying in the video. “Let the people of Israel know and let all the nations of the world know that these are our enemies and this is how they educate their children. Our answer to our enemies is one, as the Hanukkah saying goes – we came to drive out darkness.”

Lior Raz, who stars alongside Amadi in the series “Fauda”, posted on Instagram: “Our dear brother Idan is a true hero and on the first day of the war he decided to put everything aside and go fight. We pray for his speedy recovery and are sure that he will be fine. The Fauda family sends our condolences to the families of the dead and to the families of the wounded Shlomo”.

People from the world of Israeli music and culture, along with friends and colleagues, shared prayers for his healing and speedy recovery on social media. Danny Avdia, the NBA player, went up to play when on his shoes, in front of the cameras, it was written: “For the treatment of Idan Ben Tova Amadi”.
